Lost in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, an archipelago of nine islands, each of them having its own personality. Some are laid back, some are wild and volcanic ; all are beautiful. Today the Azores are no longer a mandatory stopover on the way to the Americas : as a purely optional trip, they become more attractive for the kind of traveler wishing to step off the beaten track.
